Case Studies

We make things happen. ESP staff are business literate scientists and engineers, and are skilled at translating between technology needs and requirements; usually reaching out to end-users and problem-owners to connect them with the people who know how to solve the problems that they face.

Ultra Efficient Lighting

The EU is strongly supporting the move from incandescent to solid state lighting.  It is important to fully understand the implications of such a move with regard to delivery of light and light colour expectations by the public.

ESP KTN have run several workshops, one of which took place in Birmingham where topics covered ranged from; Fundamentals of Photometry, Digital Solid State Lighting – Less Energy with High Light Quality,  Setting Standards for Solid-State Lighting Metrology, How to Measure LEDs Correctly – Tristimulus versus Spectral Instruments, The Welsh Ultra Efficient Lighting Centre, Photometry – Practical Advice for Testing Luminaires, and the Luminaire Developer’s Perspective.

These meetings, by their nature, are highly technical but a forum for UK experts has been created to enable networking and the passing on of knowledge for future development of highly efficient lighting units.
